Alexis Pimentel, Esq. of Counsel to the law firm of Panzavecchia & Associates, PLLC, specializes in the area of immigration law and appellate advocacy. Mr. Pimentel has successfully litigated deportation cases throughout the United States. He has also assisted many clients with and without criminal records apply for and receive their United States Citizenship, Legal Permanent Status, Temporary Protected Status, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, DACA and NACARA. Mr. Pimentel has successfully appealed various cases to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Administrative Appeals Office.
Prior to becoming of Counsel to the Law Firm of Panzavecchia & Associates, PLLC and forming his own immigration practice in Jackson Heights, Queens in 2012, Mr. Pimentel worked at various smaller to mid-sized firms where he handled, immigration, criminal, family and commercial litigation matters.
Before going into private practice in 2010, Mr. Pimentel was an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx Country District Attorney’s Office Appeals Bureau. During his close to six-year tenure in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office Mr. Pimentel successfully litigated numerous appeals, hearings and assisted other colleagues with their trials.
Mr. Pimentel graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from John Jay College and after working for a brief period of time as fraud investigator for the City of New York he decided to attend Hofstra School of Law where he earned his law degree in 2004. He is admitted to practice in the state court of New York, the Southern District of New York and Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Pimentel the son of the immigrant parents from the Dominican Republican, is fluent in Spanish and has a unique understanding of the immigrant experience and how the criminal justice system impacts an immigrant’s life.
